Become a Mystery Auditor
Want to become an MK Mystery Auditor?
MK Hospitality runs independent mystery audits for hotels, restaurants, cafés and bars that hold themselves to a high standard. We’re building a register of experienced hospitality professionals to carry out those audits. You’ll visit as a guest, assess the experience against a defined standard, and write the kind of report an operator can act on the next morning.
-
Each assignment is a visit to a client venue as a regular guest. You assess the full guest journey against the client’s standards, from first contact and arrival through service, product and departure, and record it on our audit platform.
The core of the role is the written narrative. Clients don’t need a score on its own. They need a clear, factual account of what happened, what worked, and where the experience fell short, written by someone who understands why it matters operationally.
How it works:
Assignments are offered by email to auditors in the relevant area and allocated on a first-accept basis
You receive the brief and audit access before your visit
Reports are due within 48 hours of the visit
Fees are set per audit, reflecting the scope of each assignment
Auditors engage as independent contractors. Work is offered as it arises and is not guaranteed
Discretion is non-negotiable. Venue staff must never know an audit is taking place.
-
We recruit operators, not general mystery shoppers. Applicants must have:
At least 10 years’ experience in hospitality operations at supervisor level or above, or equivalent seniority or scale of operation
A sharp eye for service detail and the judgement to separate a one-off slip from a systems issue
Clear, objective written English, with the ability to describe what happened without exaggeration or personal bias
Reliability with deadlines and complete discretion on site
Flexibility to take on visits in their area at short notice
Shortlisted applicants are invited to a short interview before joining the register.
